Starting Your Own Affiliate Program

If you have a website or were thinking of owning a website, setting up an affiliate program is the best way to gain traffic and sales, since you won't be doing all of the marketing yourself. How you do this depends on your experience, there are realistically two ways to go.
1. Managing your own- If you like to do bookwork, issue checks and market for new affiliates, then this is for you. You can purchase software to keep track of this for you and will automatically calculate affiliate commissions. This method is another managing tool you do not need to do as an Internet marketer. If you are worried about fees that affiliate marketing companies charge, keep this in mind:
-How many sales are you loosing by managing it yourself
-Your time is worth more to market and find new products
-You will need to find new affiliates
-You need to keep all the records and send out tax forms
2. Using an Affiliate Marketing Company is the suggested method. Although you pay a fee for the sale, keep in mind that you have offered a commission to sell your product, but only on the shell product. If your back office for your purchaser is set up correctly, you will also be making money on your back end links. You can now be free of writing checks, keeping records and sending out tax forms at the end of the year.
Here is how it pans out:
Let's say you are selling a product for $50 and you offer a 50% commission, you will pay the affiliate $25 minus the cost of fees, so you will actually be splitting the fees with the affiliate. Now lets say once they join, your back links produce you another $50.
Your initial profit was $25 and let's say after fees it nets you $23 then add the back links that you do not pay any fees on of $50 then you net $73 and you now are complete, the affiliate has been paid, your sales are recorded for tax purposes and your affiliate has his/her own record that now has nothing to do with you.
